The Wedding Gown Experience: Part Three

Here’s the bride Ashley checking in to tell you all about my wedding gown experience with Janet. As a huge fan of Say Yes to the Dress walking into the doors of Kleinfeld’s was a dream come true for me. My consultant ended up being one of my favorite people from the show with a straightforward personality like mines.

This was my first time trying on dresses and I didn’t believe it would be such a big deal. Boy was I wrong. I came prepared with my list and pictures of the gowns I wanted to try on for my consultation. The first gown I tried on was my dream gown from my vision board designed by Maggie Sottero. I twirled on the stand and looked in the mirror but I still wasn’t moved.

I tried on the next two gowns the consultant and her intern bought in for me and I didn’t like them at all. The second one I didn’t like the top without any bling and the third gown I didn’t like the bottom. Janet asked her to bring me a ball gown and reluctantly I tried it on. I looked like a little cake and my consultant jokingly referred to me as a cupcake, which is a little cake.

My consultant could read my face and tell I still liked the first dress. She told me to put the first dress back on. This time it felt different, I did a complete princess twirl, and walked out of the room to look in a larger mirror. It felt like my gown and once they jacked me up with the cathedral veil I burst out into tears. I could suddenly see myself in the gown walking down the aisle to my fiancé and my wedding dreams becoming reality. I was honestly so embarrassed because I never imagined myself as one of those brides who cries over a dress.

This wedding gown experience taught me it’s more than a dress. Everything I have been planning since I was a little girl playing with my dolls has come true and I get to spend the rest of my life with my prince charming after our fairytale wedding.

I highly recommend The Wedding Gown Experience even if you decide not to get your gown from Kleinfeld’s New York. It was a fun weekend away from the stress of planning the wedding and it was all about me. Also, I can take my family back for my next appointment being confident about what I want without their opinions interfering. This is the fun part of the wedding planning process so make sure you sign up!
